- THIS ARCHIVE CONTAINS TAR FILES
-
- The TAR file is a Unix archive file format, similar to a ZIP
- file but uncompressed. The TAR file contains some filenames
- that may not fit the MS-DOS 11 character filename limitations.
- These files can still be extracted from the TAR file, but
- their names may be truncated (thus requiring you to change
- the software to make up for it).
-
- USE WINZIP TO VIEW OR EXTRACT FROM A TAR FILE
-
- Install the WinZip utility by running \WINZIP\SETUP.EXE and
- then you can use WinZip to view the contents or extract from
- a TAR file. Simply choose "File|Open" in WinZip to get
- started with a TAR file. Remember, WinZip is shareware and
- you must license it if you decide that it is useful. Please
- direct WinZip questions to support@winzip.com or on the web
- http://www.winzip.com/
-
- WINDOWS 95 AND NT USERS
-
- The WinZip setup program will automatically detect your
- environment and install the correct version. Additionally,
- the long-filename support means that WinZip can properly
- extract almost anything from a TAR file.
